We’re hiring security-minded people excited to help us grow into the future.We are currently looking to fill the position of Enterprise Cyber Security Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Cyber Security Operations. Cyber security operations include, but are not limited to, Incident Response Management, Vulnerability Management, Email Security, Data Loss Protection, Network Security, and Security Awareness. As a part of the team the candidate will also support the Security Operations Center (SOC) as required.PositionAs the successful candidate, you will play a key role to ensure cyber security operations of varying complexity and variety, are assessed and operationalized to meet Enterprise risk and security requirements. Your responsibilities will include defining and developing security solutions as well as maintaining and supporting existing tools and procedures. You must have an ability to build and maintain a high credibility and interact well with all functional groups to ensure cyber risk and security activities are understood and actioned appropriately. Essentially, you must be able to work within an agile work environment focused on the support of the cyber security practices and infrastructure.AccountabilitiesYou will drive cyber security operations by understanding the requirements to deliver on objectives, which may include but not limited to:

  • Assisting with development of security policies, standards, directives, practices and processes
  • Investigating information security events and incidents, supporting remediation activities and conducting root cause analysis
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments on internal and external facing services, including false positive analysis, penetration testing, etc.
  • Managing security monitoring, threat intelligence, security logs analysis and cyber security alerts
  • Working with the change management team to review cyber security changes
  • Maintaining Cyber Security Playbooks to support the Cyber Security Incident Readiness and Response process
  • Supporting the delivery of the internal Security Awareness Program
  • Working closely with cyber security project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Collecting and submitting security and compliance metrics to support the Emera Cyber Security Standards
  • Recommending controls (Preventative, Detective and Responsive) with cost benefit analysis to improve the cybersecurity posture of the organization
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experience
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Security/B. Business or Engineering with Major in Information Technology, or similar education
  • 4+ years experience in an Information Security, Information Technology or Information Risk Management related field
  • One or more of the following certifications is considered an asset - CISSP, CEH, CISA, GIAC
  • Good working knowledge of the following is considered an asset:
    • Security technologies (i.e., Email Security, SIEM, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, DLP, EDR, PAM, IAM, CASB, etc.)
    • LAN/WAN network security methodologies and best practices
    • Server platforms (UNIX, Windows etc.) and desktop security, including network/host-based security, wireless and mobile devices
    • Experience in penetration testing and exploitability-focused vulnerability assessment
    • Security & Privacy incident response & event management processes
    • Cloud security experience (i.e., Azure, AWS)
    • Security and IT methodologies, standards, and best practices: i.e., ITIL, ISO 27001/02, NIST, CIS; other security-related frameworks are considered an asset
    • Security methodologies, controls and practices in a SOX environment
  • Experience with following is considered an asset:
    • NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) CIP standards
    • Industrial Control System (ICS) or OT (Operations Technology) environments
    • Internal Audit Processes
