Job Description

Sacred Heart School of Halifax has an immediate opening for a full-time Evening Custodian. This position is part of a dedicated team responsible for the cleaning and general custodial services at the School. This is an evening position with normal work hours of 4:00pm-12:00am. This position requires related experience, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.Responsibilities:

  • Daily cleaning of all classrooms and offices;
  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming all hallways, stairwells, and entrances;
  • Setting up tables, chairs, and stages for events;
  • Deep cleaning of classrooms, washrooms, change rooms, hallways, and stairwells weekly;
  • Weekly, monthly and seasonal upkeep as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to complete physical labour;
  • Reliability, initiative, attention to detail, customer service oriented, well-organized, and ability to work independently or as a team;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and visitors;
  • Previous experience as a building cleaner is an asset.
