Delivering superior quality and consistencyJob DescriptionLegendary Hospitality in the heart of Downtown Halifax are looking for an Executive Chef for our Waterfront Operations. We are looking for a passionate hard working individuals to join our back of house teams. Our core values are focused around the people we employ and the customers we serve and we are looking for like-minded individuals.Responsibilities

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
  • Responsible for the day-to-day culinary operations
  • Lead menu creation, food purchasing, and maintenance of quality standards
  • Lead training of new personnel, coaching staff and monitor back of house performance
  • Monitors service and teamwork on a regular basis and counsels employees on providing service and teamwork
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increases sales and minimize costs, including food costs and labour costs
  • Ensuring all members of the culinary team create dishes which meet our quality standards
  • Responsible for investigating and resolving complaints concerning food quality and service, including online reviews
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents, including being responsible for promptly recording incident reports incase of injury to employees or guests
  • Assures proper safety, hygiene and sanitation practices are followed by ensuring staff are trained in Food Safety Handling and WHIMS
  • Follow and enforce our core values and deliver a Legendary experience
About you
  • 4+ years in the food and beverage industry an asset
  • Experience working in a fast paced and demanding environment with a high volume of guests
  • Understands the importance of compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Must be punctual, reliable, have ability to work as a team and independently and have a strong work ethic
  • Advanced english language skills
Work Environment
  • Physical demands include walking and standing, bending, kneeling, repetitive twisting and lifting, and repetitive arm movements, and going up and down stairs
  • Must be able to work outside for a prolonged period of time
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • Uniforms and PPE provided by LHG must be worn during work hours
