Requisition ID: 142421Opportunity Type: PermanentAbout This OpportunityCamp Hill Memorial is looking for a part-time family physician with an interest in Care of the Elderly. 0.1-0.2 FTE position, responsible for looking after either 25 or 40 veterans and residents in central Halifax. Nurse Practitioner support on-site.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Palliative Care
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
  • Act as a patient’s advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours
  • part-time hours
  • rounds once or twice per week
  • available by phone 8-5 Monday to Friday.
Compensation is fee for service, plus a stipend of $765, to attend monthly meetings and $2600 per week, when participating in after-hours call.To Apply: contact Dr. Claire NowlanQualifications
