Requisition ID: 122494Opportunity Type: PermanentEstimated Annual Salary: 250,000 - 300,000Type of Remuneration: OtherSite Visit & Reallocation Allowance Programs: Relocation Program; Site Visit ProgramAbout This OpportunityHalifax Central Family Practice is looking for a full-time Family Physician to join the practice. The clinic is located in the heart of downtown Halifax and within walking distance to of three major teaching hospitals (IWK, Victoria General, and Halifax Infirmary). There are also several specialists located within the same building where the clinic is located. The position may come with an existing patient roster of roughly 1200-1400 patients.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
  • Act as a patient’s advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected HoursFull-time, 1.0FTEQualifications
  • Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
