Located in the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, the CCfV is a collaboration of Dalhousie University, the IWK Health Centre, and Nova Scotia Health Authority. www.centerforvaccinology.caJob SummaryReporting to the Finance Manager and the Director of Finance, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for financial support services to ensure the effective, efficient and accurate financial operations of CCfV, in consultation with the Manager and Director.Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review payroll reports to ensure accuracy, and assist in the preparation of overall CCfV financial forecast.
  • Monitor internal resource management system and update information by aligning each research study budget to associated cost driver.
  • Contract and agreements facilitation/tracking including institutional review, signature process, and maintaining hard copy and electronic files.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual ad-hoc reports.
  • Manage and oversee administrative functions related to payroll and the time management system.
NoteThe successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.Dalhousie’s vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination. However, as this position is in a clinical academic department based within Nova Scotia Health/IWK facilities, NSH/IWK’s vaccination and other relevant workplace policies will apply.Required QualificationsUndergraduate degree in Commerce/Accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience. Proficiency in the use of payroll and accounting software and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak, listen and write in a clear and concise manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Must demonstrate a high level of organizational and time management skills. Working knowledge in accepted accounting principles, accounts payable and receivable, and computerized accounting programs, as well as working knowledge in fund accounting and preparation of financial statements and reports.AssetsA minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within a university, hospital, or comparable environment in a research setting.Additional InformationDalhousie University supports a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
