Additional benefits include:Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan (eligible immediately upon hire) including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramRRSP program (5% employer matching)Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insuranceFree onsite parkingEmployee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks ProgramAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiativesRecognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the OpportunitySupport various continuous improvement strategies across our finance functions and across our divisions and communities such as the process improvement for end-to-end financial reporting, deployment of digital tools in the ERP, internal control, financial statement preparation, among others.Actively support training and documentation required to ensure successful change managementProvide leadership and coaching to various team members across Shannex, that could be impacted by these process changesEnsure all process changes, including at the enterprise level, are implemented on schedule, and are deployed with controlled planning, precision testing and accuracyChampion the use of technology in and promote identification of process improvements and efficienciesAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:A Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Accounting or FinanceCPA designation is considered an assetRelevant experience or education focused on Finance Transformation or Process Improvement is considered a strong assetAt least three to five (3-5) years experience in a similar role or within multi-stakeholder financial reporting teamA passion for improvements and the ability to respectfully challenge the status quoProven ability to implement and carry out financial process change in a cross functional environmentExperience or certification in Change Management, Lean 6-Sigma, or similar training is an assetAbout UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
