Additional benefits include:Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan (eligible immediately upon hire) including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramRRSP program (5% employer matching)Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insuranceFree onsite parkingEmployee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks ProgramAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiativesRecognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the OpportunityAs a key member of the Enhanced and Long-Term Care Operations within Shannex, this role will:Be responsible to understand and manage the financial reporting, accounting, and analysis for various streams of fundingProvide cost and other financial analysis to the Regional Managers/Administrators and Divisional/Provincial Leadership to support business decisionsWork across the organization at various levels and support the Manager of Financial Reporting, Shannex Inc.Coordinate the completion of the annual compliance for funding programsLiaise with our teams to ensure accurate use and recording of restricted funds coming from Government and other sourcesDeliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on these funds, including information on forecasted spendingAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:A University degree and has or is in the process of obtaining a CPA designationAt least two to five (2-5) years experience working in an accounting or finance roleExperience with fund accounting and/or deferred revenue is considered an assetProficiency with interpreting data in order to communicate business needsAdvanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and WordProficient knowledge of government funding, long term care, restricted and unrestricted funds from an operational and account perspectiveAbout UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
