The Marine Environmental Observation, Prediction & Response Network (MEOPAR) is looking for a highly motivated and talented Financial Controller to join its dedicated team of Administrative Centre staff who work closely with the Networks Scientific Directors. We are located in the Steele Ocean Sciences Building, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.The position is available to be filled immediately, and employment can currently be offered until June 30, 2023.MEOPAR is a national Network of Centres of Excellence (NCE), connecting top marine researchers across the country with highly qualified personnel, partners and communities. MEOPAR helps train the next generation of marine research professionals, funds leading-edge research, and connects research results to real-world solutions. Information about the organization can be found at www.meopar.ca.Position Description: Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for the full accounting cycle and oversees all facets of the networks financial activity. The Financial Controller works closely with the Operations Manager, the Managing Director and the Scientific Directors to establish and monitor the operational and research budgets of the network. The Financial Controller is also responsible for developing and maintaining standard financial and administrative procedures as well as contributing to MEOPARs annual business plan.Quick Apply
