The Faculty of Behavioural Sciences has openings for the role of Full Time Faculty within the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program.Full time faculty will have responsibilities in three areas:TeachingFull Time Faculty will teach 15 courses per year.Full time faculty have the option to teach additional sections. Maximum section load (combined regular and overload teaching) at any time is two courses per session and nine courses per term. These overload sections are paid at the existing course rate.Course LeadCourse Leads support the Dean in fostering student success and maintaining the currency and quality of programs, curriculum, courses, and teaching. Each course in the MACP program has a designated Course Lead. Course Leads are responsible for managing the student learning experience for the course for which they are responsible.Course Leads mentor faculty that teach their designed course, which may include: communication about the course or policies impacting teaching; outlining course expectations; offering examples of how to meet teaching expectations; offering support to faculty; encouraging the use of Yorkville video resources, etc. When a course revision has been made, Course Leads update teaching faculty about these changes. Course Leads offer pre-emptive guidance on grading rubrics and support around course assignments. At the end of each course session, Course Leads review collected data on each instructor teaching in their section. For courses that have a synchronous component, the Course Lead arranges, coordinates, and manages faculty availability to provide a schedule to students. Annually, Course Leads meet with active Yorkville students that have completed the course to gain their feedback and perspective.Each Course Lead serves as a Curriculum Committee member by regularly attending meetings and orchestrating proposals or needed revisions to their designated course. Course Leads actively evaluate their assigned course for areas of improvement and currency in the profession. Each term, Course Leads encourage, promote, and collect faculty feedback on the course design, content, and logistics to aid in curriculum review. Course Leads are responsible for handling/processing minor changes (e.g., broken links), as well as for assignment or discussion board changes or developing a new replacement course as determined by the Curriculum Committee and/or policy.Administrative/GovernanceFull time faculty will engage in scholarly and/or professional development activities that promote stronger professional identity, promote or advance the counseling field and/or advance skill sets that could provide a professional example to students. Faculty must maintain their professional license to practice and demonstrate a strong clinical background or professional identity.Full time faculty are expected to attend and participate in all faculty meetings as is reasonable.Full time faculty are required to participate in at least one appointed service to the University (i.e., Committee appointment; requested roles or services appointed by Associate Deans or Dean; etc).Faculty will participate in the annual performance review and demonstrate alignment with current program expectations and requirements.About Yorkville UniversityFounded in 2004, Yorkville University is a Canadian university with a national presence.
