PSA Halifax is recruiting for a Gate CoordinatorWe are looking for candidates who have the skill, energy, attitude and curiosity to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations at all times through careful planning and management of available resources. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly successful and leading container terminal operation in the East Coast of Canada. The position offers a competitive salary with annual performance-based incentives, medical benefits for individual and family, contributive pension benefits and opportunities for training and development.PRIMARY FUNCTION:The Gate Coordinator is the first point of contact for the trucking industry for receiving/delivering containers to/from the terminal. The Gate Coordinator ensures proper documentation has been received either in hard copy or soft copy before any containers are received or delivered to/from the terminal. Liaises with the Marine Superintendent to ensure adequate labour and equipment is made available to the gate operation on a daily basis to ensure an efficient terminal operation to the trucking industry. Deals effectively with the Shipping Lines and Trucking Companies on a daily basis to ensure the terminal provides a reasonable level of service to meet the requirements of the customer.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience: Grade 12 high school diploma; previous experience working in a marine terminal/industrial environment in the areas of administration, operations/and or safety in a deadline sensitive working environments is an asset.Computer Skills: MS Office including: (Word, Access, Excel), Outlook Email, Adobe Pro, Internet, scheduling software such as ERP/Terminal operating systems.Customer Service Skills: Able to deal with a variety of customer demands and challenges.COMPENSATION: Permanent, full time salaried position with an attractive benefits package.TO APPLY: Submit a cover letter and resume to: careers@psahalifax.comPSA Halifax is an equal opportunity employerQuick Apply
