Under the Murphy’s brand in Halifax, the company operates eastern Canada’s most popular water-based tours, including the HarbourHopper and the Tall Ship Silva. Ambassatours is a leading provider of shore excursions for the cruise ship industry in the Atlantic region, servicing arrivals in Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, Saint John, and various ports inNewfoundland. Ambassatours also operates Double Deck tours in Niagara Falls, Canada.The positionThis full-time permanent position supports the human resource and finance functions of Ambassatours, which has an in-season headcount of greater than 300 employees. The candidate has strong attention to detail, is very organized, and is eager to support operational growth.Responsibilities

  • Organizes all hire letters and onboarding materials for each Company and inputs employee information into the payroll system.
  • Reviews When I Work (time tracking software) time capture reports to ensure schedule vs. hours worked variances are being resolved by operational teams prior to time tracking file export.
  • Assists with payroll time tracking import and processing of payroll.
  • Assists with the distribution of gratuities collected through the Company’s reservations system.
  • Assists with the administration of all benefit programs for full-time salaried staff.
  • Assists with office duties such as ordering supplies, assisting with employee expense report claims and other employee requests.
  • Assists with employee onboarding coordination, including laptop and cell phone issuance.
  • Along with HR Consultant, assists with any required workers compensation filings or correspondence.
  • Other related duties, as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ related experience.
  • Completion or current enrollment in a payroll certification program (PCP) or Human Resources (CPHR) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or When I Work would be an asset.
