Job Description

Be part of the Le Rouge Culinary Team. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team starting April 1st!At Le Rouge, our mission is to deliver an unparalleled experience where guests can come to enjoy premium food and beverage in a space offers both comfort and excitement. The goal is to exceed the guest expectation while creating curiosity and anticipation as to what happens next.As an employee of Le Rouge, your role is greater than just making or delivering great tasting food and/ or beverage to the table. You represent the Le Rouge brand are the ambassador to what our experience has to offer. You will help to tailor the experience to suit each and every guest and deliver to the highest standard. This means that you must both look and act the part of a professional bartender to instill confidence in the guests, many of whom are dining with Le Rouge for the first time. You build the trust of our guests and you provide clarity of what is about to begin. You are the one responsible for introducing the guest to the experience by telling our story, providing menu recommendations and accompanying beverage and extending to them the premium experience that the brand carries.Line Cook Job DescriptionThe Line Cook is the backbone of the Le Rouge culinary program. They work alongside the Chef and Sous Chef to deliver the highest level dining experience available. They are responsible for ensuring their station is stocked and prepped for service, adhering to all recipe specs of the Le Rouge brand as well as overall kitchen cleanliness. They require expert knowledge in kitchen policies and procedures and are require is responsible for the execution of the dining experience at Le Rouge. They ensure the kitchen is fully prepared before and during service so everything runs smoothly. It’s important to remember to stay ahead of the duties so that you can be relaxed and make it look effortless.Role of the Line Cook

  • Possess expert knowledge of menu items and recipes
  • Assist in prep levels and ongoing kitchen cleanliness
  • Observes all proper procedures and guidelines for proper food handling
  • Support team in set up and execution of service
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times during all interactions with coworkers
  • Possess a sincere attitude to be of service to others with a desire to succeed
Position KPIs and Responsibilities
  • Expert knowledge of menu specs and all kitchen practices and procedures
  • Completion of cleaning schedules, and vigilant on-going maintenance of assigned work station
  • Handling guest concerns with and without the support of the management team
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and demonstrate a genuine positive demeanor throughout the shift
  • Collaborative in a team environment, focused on success of the team not individual
  • Adhere to all recipes and never compromise the quality of Le Rouge menu and culinary offerings
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and momentum
  • Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • High level of organization and ability to manage varying business volumes and tasks
  • Flexible work style and attitude with a willingness to work as a member of a fast-paced team
  • Practice safe food handling and overall kitchen safety
  • Complete understanding of F.I.F.O. and product yield
  • Support standards of cleanliness, timing, uniform, grooming, organization, production, food quality, and consistency
  • Maintain the work area, including all counter tops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Inventory all products that may need to be stocked, pulled, and/or prepped – keep management informed of food quantities and quality in prep, on the line, and in holding
  • Communicate effectively between alternate shifts (am and pm) and ensure station is stocked and ready for service for current and incoming shift
  • Ensure proper rotation, labeling, and dating of all products
  • Ensure all products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures and correct visual appearance
  • Accurately complete all orders with uncompromising quality and consistency as per restaurant and Chef specifications
  • Complete all food production and prep sheets as well as monitoring daily prep production
  • May be assigned to work multiple stations throughout the shift
  • Maintain and upkeep of all kitchen equipment through adherence daily cleaning procedures and notify Chef of any repairs required
  • Attend meetings and training courses as required
  • Report Directly to the Chef and General Manager or Manager on duty in their absence
Qualifications

Job Requirements
  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-paced environment
  • 1-year experience in high volume restaurant line environment
  • Excellent interpersonal & problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 30lbs
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
  • Current and valid Food Safety Certification

Licence/Certification:
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
