Job Description

Sea Smoke is a busy fast paced waterfront restaurantWe are In search for an experienced and passionate line cook.The position will be responsible for cooking on the line.Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of the kitchenAble to read measure and execute recipesAble to read and execute computer tickets for serviceApply advanced knife skills required for service and preparationMaintain a solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentationAssists Chefs as needed in execution of serviceEffectively communicate with management, chefs and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employeesAssists and/ or completes additional tasks as assignedPossession of or the ability to work in CanadaMaintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standardsWORKING KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience with one year in a high-volume restaurant requiredPossess knife skills, knowledge of food storageRestaurant back of house operationsOpening and closing dutiesProper lifting techniquesSanitation and safetyHigh volume operationsCompetitive rate of pay to the right candidateSKILLS:Must have strong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, verbally with staff.Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude alwaysAbility to maintain composure and stay focusedAbility to work as a team, stay organized, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisionsAbility to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and work under pressure and meet deadlinesMust have good positive energy to make it through the dayMust be observant and quick to respond to various situationsMust be able to push and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouchWORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
