Job Description

About usWestwood Developments Limited (“Westwood”) is a rapidly growing multi-faceted organization involved in commercial and residential land development, acquisitions, construction, and property management. The company specializes in planning and creating sustainable residential communities using the most innovative technologies and well-respected methodologies for developing long lasting urban communities.Westwood is seeking to fill a maintenance technician’s position to work with our property management team. This position requires traveling between Westwood’s properties, to attend to repairs and maintenance within the property. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be skilled with various hand and power tools, be able to communicate and be a team player.Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular communication with building resident managers to complete any open work orders, including but not limited to;
  • Maintaining curb appeal; ensuring walkways and entrances are kept clean, plants and grass are watered, curbs are swept and the parking lot is clear of all debris;
  • Handling basic maintenance within an apartment on unit turn-overs;
  • Perform maintenance such as plastering, painting, trim repair/ replacement, light fixture changes, replacing toilets and faucets;
  • Overseeing contractors when repairs are necessary.
  • Scheduling contractors and service works for complete tasks within the building, and completing a follow up to ensure the task has been completed.
  • Deal promptly with emergencies and unusual circumstances and provide an update to the property manager in a timely manner.
  • Snow removal of sidewalks and walkways around the properties, including entrances and parking ramps.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ related experience
  • Team player with great communication and written skills.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and be very comfortable with email use
  • Ability to multi-task and follow up promptly
  • Individual who can work safely and efficiently with little supervision
  • Must be able to lift 20KG
  • Must have access to a vehicle on a daily basis, good driving record
