Additional benefits include:Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan (eligible immediately upon hire) including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramRRSP program (5% employer matching)Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insuranceFree onsite parkingEmployee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks ProgramAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiativesRecognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the OpportunityThe Manager, Corporate Finance, Consolidation & Treasury will:Lead the preparation and delivery of the monthly consolidated financial reporting package and manage consolidated treasury and financing requirementsLead the on time and on quality preparing and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, including non-consolidated statements for two development companiesManage related party transactions, lead budgetary management for corporate home office accounts and provide leadership and coaching to their team to ensure accurate accounting and reportingProvide technical support for complex accounting transactionsChampion the use of technology in reporting and promote identification of process improvements and efficienciesProvide leadership and oversight to all departmental activities to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, and applicable legislationSelect, shape, lead and develop member of the teamAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with a CPA designationA minimum of five to seven (5-7) years experience in a similar role with leadership accountabilityThorough technical knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)Experience working with consolidations and corporate financial reportingAbility to work independently and analytically with the ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problemsAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams within the organizationStrong ability to multi-task and work in a challenging, fast paced environment and meet deadlinesExperience working with bank compliance reporting requirements considered an assetCurrent or previous experience in a multi geographical, multi-divisional or multi-subsidiary enterprise organization is considered an assetWorking experience with Great Plains and Yardi software is also considered an assetAbout UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
