Court Services administers court operations, delivers services to the public, and provides administrative and clerical support to the judiciary.About Our OpportunityAs the Manager, Family Navigation/Assessment Program, you develop and implement policy for, and manage the personnel of, the Family Navigation/Assessor Program (the “Program”). In doing so, you collaborate with Court Services personnel and the judiciary.Primary Accountabilities

  • Manage a province-wide team of social workers and a psychologist who assist family justice litigants in navigating the court system and conduct Voice of the Child Reports and Parenting Assessments while evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities, policies and procedures for the Program.
  • Identifying deliverables, terms of reference, estimated resources, work requirements, implementation and evaluation of the Program.
  • Promote partnerships with the judiciary, stakeholders, government agencies and other departments.
  • Ensure Voice of the Child Reports and Parenting Assessments are completed on time and within budget by managing the available human resources.
  • Manage province-wide training for Program staff and external service providers.
  • Assisting with the development of departmental and divisional policies, department and divisional business plans, Accountability Reporting and Ministerial briefings.
  • Support department initiatives through policy development, advice, consulting and steering committee participation.
Qualifications and ExperienceTo be considered for this opportunity you have a Master of Social Work, or an acceptable equivalent, with several years of managerial and/or supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.As the successful candidate, you are familiar with court systems and have a proven ability to coach and develop others. You build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with others while working with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management, Court Administrator, Chief Judges, the Judiciary, and other agencies. Your expertise will allow you to be a credible resource for clients.You hold experience in policy development/implementation, and you understand and apply the principal of judicial independence in the development, and implementation of policies. The position requires you to be a self-starter who is result-oriented. In collaboration with the Court Services division, your keen analytical skills allow you to review processes, and initiate solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills specifically in relation to proposing recommendations to senior leadership are required. The successful candidate must be able to make sound decisions that involve broad accountability. Decisions typically relate to the prioritizing of resources contingent in business planning initiatives.
