We are committed to helping diverse talent thrive.About Our OpportunityIn the manager role you will be part of a team that provides project intake services to NSDS for the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW), Office of Professional Healthcare Recruitment (OPHR), Office of Mental Health and Addictions (OMHA), Seniors and Long Term Care (SLTC), Nova Scotia Health (NSH) and Isaak Walton Killam (IWK) Hospital. You will work with various and diverse IT and health stakeholders across the health landscape to build and manage a sustainable process to effectively handle large and small project intake work.You will build a new and improved intake process that aligns to appropriate governance and incorporates timely decision making and has effective prioritization. You will collaborate and seek input from all stakeholders to ensure the process equally serves everyone’s needs.Promoting a culture of teamwork, you will ensure effective management of human resources by setting and evaluating performance targets, promoting diversity and a healthy workplace, while considering the vision, strategic direction, and annual plans for the department and your business partners.You are also responsible for creating and promoting a culture where idea generation and innovation is valued and encouraged, while still maintaining an excellent level of client service and compliance with Privacy and Security standards.Qualifications and ExperienceAt a minimum, you will possess a university degree in a related field such as, Computer Science, Engineering or Business, with several years of related progressive experience in Information Technology and supervision. A Project Management certificate is an asset.As the successful candidate you will have proven experience in project management, business process reengineering, delivering client-focused services, managing people and financial resources. You must demonstrate a strong people and process management background including the ability to coach and develop staff; experience in leading change; and an ability to build cohesive, effective partnerships and teams in a fast-paced environment.You are a critical thinker who provides innovative information technology solutions in a fast-paced environment, and quickly adapt to competing priorities, contentious issues, and challenging deadlines. This position requires a high degree of problem-solving skills and requires you to deal effectively with problems that are broad in range.Candidate’s qualifications and competencies will be assessed using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.EquivalencyAn acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
