This includes strategies for investing, re-purposing, and the improvement of current assets.Completes market research and recommends new and innovative building systems technologiesMaintains in depth involvement with upcoming technologies and where appropriate utilize Shannex properties for test projectsDevelops processes for decisions related to both new construction and existing properties as they relate to design/systems/equipmentMaintains documentation of decision making as it occurs for each projectMonitors legislation changes and keeps current with best practicesActively participates with senior leadership to develop and understand the strategic plan, then ensures the assets and engineering recommendations support the planDevelops and maintains a current Strategic Asset Master Plan for the enterprise which supports and aligns to system-level strategies for propertiesSupports the development of long-range capital budget planning for the enterpriseAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:Engineering Degree, Mechanical or IndustrialApproximately 10 Years progressive experience focusing on facilities management, energy management design and building construction/developmentKnowledge of building systems and constructionExperience in the transitioning of construction projects to the operations teamExposure and detailed knowledge of electrical and mechanical design, installation and commissioning, measurement, and verificationExperience, and leadership in Energy ManagementExposure to LEED, Energy Star, BOMA, ISO 50001 and Carbon neutral projects with the ability to lead or support new projectsIn depth familiarity with ASHRAE guidesAbout UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
