To do this, we’re recruiting leaders at all levels of the organization who embrace a challenge and believe in their ability to make a difference.About Our OpportunityAs the Manager for Performance & Accountability you will report to the Director, Performance & Accountability, and will be accountable to lead corporate performance monitoring systems for the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW). The Manager leads departmental accountability reporting to ensure that there is consistent outcome monitoring aligned with strategic government objectives. The Manager is also responsible to support the department in enhancing its accountability frameworks and approaches, and performance management capabilities to coordinate the corporate and health system agendas that inform and facilitate an integrated and coordinated approach to tracking population and health system outcomes and accountability functions.Primary AccountabilitiesYou will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in the department to support the advancement of accountability and outcomes reporting. You will achieve this through:

  • Developing and delivering plans and strategies by managing a high-performing team of professionals.
  • Collaborating across the Department and working with the Branch on the development of accountability frameworks and requirements inclusive of targets, measures and milestones.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and monitoring your team to ensure priorities and objectives are met, aligning with the interests and objectives of the Department of Health & Wellness.
  • Ensuring strategic reporting aligns with the goals and priorities of government by demonstrating insight by making connections and effective decisions which support system thinking.
  • Leading departmental reporting cycles, and supporting the department and its partners in meeting government requirements.
  • Managing other system reporting requirements.
Qualifications and ExperienceAs our next Manager, you will have a (graduate or bachelor’s) degree in a related field and have several years of progressive experience leading reporting and monitoring. You will also have significant experience working closely with stakeholders.You are a leader with a demonstrated ability to execute and deliver actions in the short-term, along with experience in developing and implementing a vision with a longer-term outlook. You are a natural and strong communicator and relationship builder and have a bias for candid and open discussions, both with internal and external stakeholders. You have a proven track record of building meaningful relationships within your workplace, but also across and outside of government.You have an ability to take in new information and quickly synthesize it to provide excellent advice, rooted in good judgement and professional expertise. You are well-organized, capable of prioritizing work and are flexible and open to changing course if new information, evidence or a changing environment presents itself. You do not dig in your heels. You are comfortable challenging the status quo and taking risks (within reasonable limits). You enjoy and can move quickly between detail-oriented work and the big picture. You are naturally curious, enjoy working in a range of policy areas, and constantly ask questions to ensure a deep understanding of a new topic area.
