Job Description

Halifax Vision Surgical Centre is Nova Scotia’s premium eye surgery centre. We are dedicated to maintaining, restoring and improving our patients’ vision in a professional and compassionate manner using the latest advancements in technology. We have an exciting opportunity for candidates who share the same values of patient care.We are looking to fill a part-time Medical Device Reprocessing Technician position. The successful candidate will be required to perform a series of duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, function testing and distribution of surgical supplies and medical devices for the operating room. You will be required to follow all manufacturer’s sterilization instructions and clinic policies and procedures. Some inventory and record keeping is also a must.If you have the following qualifications, we would love to meet you:

  • Successful completion of an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program (course with practicum, preferred)
  • Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certification
  • Membership with the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia preferred but
  • Previous experience working in the setting preferred
  • Experience operating MDR related equipment
  • Knowledge of Infection Control measures and Routine Practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to problem solve
Consideration may be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program.Salary: To be negotiated based on qualifications and experienceHours: WeekdaysJob Type: Part-timeSalary: $17.47-$22.78 per hourSchedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
