Subsidiary: Miller Paving Limited Location: Halifax, NSAbout Us:Cumberland Paving and Contracting is part of Miller Paving Atlantic, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Cumberland Paving and Contracting provides the public and private sectors with road construction, paving, road and structure rehabilitation, engineering construction, aggregate-based materials, highway operations, and maintenance services.As an Excavator Operator, You Will:Safely operate 13 ton to 30-ton excavators to perform heavy civil work around pipelines, utilities, and piles in high traffic areas Experience in sloping, trenching, lowering pipe, materials and tools and backfilling Experience working with shoring and trench boxes Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade Conduct trench work, which meets OH amp;S requirements Fill out and understand an equipment logbook Perform daily service and preventative maintenance on equipment Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members Operate equipment in a safe manner Maintaining site cleanliness, and any perform general labour activityWhat You #39;ll Bring:Able to read and interpret drawings as well as setup and use grade laseramp; pipe laser would be considered an asset Must be able to finish grade would be considered an asset Minimum 2 years’ experience operating an excavator Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision Dependable, reliable, and team player Flexible hours required to meet project timelines Must be able to travel with the crew throughout the local area for the work durationMiller is proud to provide this unique career opportunity, we offer continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package.
