A sports fan celebrate a special moment.Because we believe connections unite us, possibilities fuel us, and moments define us.Position is open for -St. Johns , Fredericton and HalifaxThe Wireline Municipal Relations Specialist will focus on dealing with municipalities as well as local utility companies and possible building owners where telecommunications infrastructure builds are required to improve and advance the existing and future Wireline Network in Atlantic Canada.Responsibilities:

  • Interpret business requirements to assist in timely and appropriate project delivery.
  • Conduct pre-consultation correspondence/meetings with municipal or land-use authority staff regarding project objectives, constraints, requirements, outline applicable permitting and public
consultation protocols and requirements:
  • Assess and apply government permitting and consultation protocol requirements/constraints to determine specific project parameters.
  • Understand utility permits with internal Delivery Manager teams and client management by summarizing and tracking utility progress.
  • Assemble and generate report materials and exhibits for use in Project Description Reports,
  • Devise and execute approval strategies in collaboration with internal and client project teams.
  • Generate sketch/exhibits for applicable land, utility, easements and property agreements and subsequent permitting and public consultation requirements.
  • Assist and lead planning team in acquiring all necessary permitting authorizations and approvals.
  • Develop and present project related deputations/delegations and requests for resolutions to applicable municipal, utility and landowners.
  • Organize and hold Project Information Sessions with project planning team.
  • Correspond with project stakeholders, supporters, and opponents to proposed developments.
  • Review, understand, and appropriately communicate legal agreements, site plans and typical telecom project layouts.
  • Provide Project Manager and client acquisition and permitting progress updates and problem mitigation.
  • Provide other relationship expertise to clients, engineering/construction personnel or external consultants.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in working with municipalities and utility companies.
  • Experience working in public right of way for civil/telecom projects preferred
  • The qualification of diploma or degree should include or be an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience dealing with large residential and commercial property landlords is an asset
  • Excellent communication and written skills are required
  • Experience managing multiple discipline projects within telecommunications is preferred
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of relevant Rogers Engineering and Operations Processes would be an asset.
  • Strong computer skills. (Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Power BI, Auto cad and VISIO)
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be familiar with CSA specifications
