A Physician with neonatal experience is preferred. The Clinical Associate provides care to infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit under the direction of a Neonatologist. The person in this position will work full time with a variety of 9 hour, 16 hour and 24 hour shifts.Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership developing, promoting and maintaining an interdisciplinary collaboration in a team environment
  • Work in partnership with Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and other medical staff, professional nurses and other disciplines to provide holistic patient/family integrated care
  • Dedication to continuous learning for self and team
Hours of Work40 hours per week, exact hours of work to be determined. Weekdays and weekends. Days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.Your Qualifications
  • Must have, or be eligible for physician licensure in Nova Scotia
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required
  • Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and experience in neonatal intensive care
  • Demonstrated organizational, conceptual, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated advanced practice skills and competence in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, assertiveness and innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to perform autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to constantly changing, unpredictable situations
  • Demonstrated flexibility required to work with others and allow the role to evolve continually through time; always looking for ways to improve the delivery of care
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
