Being a key member of your client teams, you help to ensure delivery of high quality work that meets specific client needs. You build strong relationships with both external and internal clients, tackling new challenges everyday with the guidance and expertise of seasoned colleagues. As would be expected of an actuary, you have a passion for numbers, an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing calculations.Responsibilities

  • Manages projectsamp; responsible for overall client service delivery on large client including:
  • Annual updatesamp; statement production
  • Scopeamp; technical analysis of plan provision changes
  • Data integrityamp; In-bound payroll interface
  • Accuracy of calculationsamp; compliance with pension plan provisions
  • System user support services
  • Overall interrelationship of data, system parameters, user experience, member communications
  • Oversee full suite of servicesamp; system functionality.
  • Ensures that quality control and service standards are attained.
  • Participates and assists in/with client meetings and communicates with client on regular basis.
  • Reviews complex calculations for terminations, retirements and death benefits
  • Functions as a team leader overseeing work for staff
  • Provides feedback to manager regarding performance of staff.
  • Liaises with the actuary regarding membership data for valuations.
  • Reviews and sends monthly invoices to clients.
  • Understands the client #39;s perspective and priorities and works with the client to resolve administrative issues.
  • Assist in development of new business with existing clients and prospective clients.
  • Participates/manages special projects as required.
  • Acts as a resource to the entire DB Pension Administration practice
Succeeding as a Consultant will require the following core qualifications and skills.
  • Minimum five years of DB Pension Administration experience
  • Post-secondary education and related courses in Mathematics
  • Passed Society of Actuaries #39; Exams, and ASA designation is an asset.
  • Courses in Pension Administration is an asset.
  • Knowledge of all provincial pension and tax legislation
  • Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen
  • Excellent communication, project management and presentation/meeting management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Highly organized, ability to take initiative and be independent.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach other team members.
  • A good understanding of office software, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Access
  • Experience with pension administration software Ariel is an asset.
  • Bilingual English and French is an asset.
