Job Description

Sea Smoke is a busy fast paced waterfront restaurantWe are In search for an experienced and passionate prep cook.The position will be responsible for preparing all restaurant food.Responsible for working in all aspects of food preparationDemonstrate knowledge in all areas of the kitchenAble to read measure and execute recipesApply advanced knife skills required for service and preparationEffectively communicate with management, chefs and service staffWork one or two days ahead of operation to ensure product delivery is on time and to ensure on days off anyone covering has what they need to operateAssists and/ or completes additional tasks as assignedPossession of or the ability to work in CanadaMaintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standardsWORKING KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience with one year in a high-volume restaurant requiredPossess knife skills, knowledge of food storageOpening and closing dutiesProper lifting techniquesSanitation and safetyHigh volume operationsCompetitive rate of pay to the right candidateSKILLS:Must have strong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staffAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to demonstrate a positive attitude alwaysAbility to maintain composure and stay focusedAbility to work as a team, or alone. stay organized, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisionsAbility to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and work under pressure and meet deadlinesMust have good positive energy to make it through the dayMust be observant and quick to respond to various situationsMust be able to push and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouchWORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
