Here’s where you come in!As our new Engagement and Internal Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and delivering innovative programs and services related to employee engagement and internal communications. You will collaborate with employees, leaders, and other stakeholders across the department and the public service. You will chair our department’s Engagement, Wellness and Belonging Committee, collaborating with members to create new ways to enhance engagement across SNS-IS. Our goal at SNS-IS is to create an environment that is welcoming, culturally competent, and free of discrimination; one that respects and includes the many cultures and communities of this province.At SNS-IS, we are recognized by our colleagues across the Public Service as leaders in engagement and internal communications. We play a key role in ensuring SNS-IS meets its departmental mandate and make a significant contribution to enhancing overall organizational health.Primary Accountabilities

  • Provides independent, specialized professional expertise for the administration, management and delivery of various engagement and internal communications programs and services.
  • Plans, develops, evaluates, promotes, and monitors new engagement and/or internal communications initiatives.
  • Promotes and develops initiatives and programs using current and emerging technology.
  • Analyses and provides program/service recommendations through reports and advice to management and develops plans to update program(s)/service(s).
  • Advises and responds to questions and concerns from key stakeholders and program users.
  • Supports senior colleagues in the development of internal communications.
  • Manages day-to-day relationships with clients, contract service providers, and team while working within an established contract management plan.
  • May deliver outcomes by supervising others and monitoring the support team to facilitate program objectives.
  • As applicable, monitors budgets and forecasts through timely and effective coordination and analysis of operating expenditures to produce financial reports.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree + 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.You possess the following skills and experience:
  • You are a stellar communicator – both written and verbal.
  • You have a creative flare when using communication/engagement tools, such as SharePoint, Canva, Yammer, MS Teams, and aren’t afraid to try new ways of doing things!
  • You demonstrate sound judgement and great interpersonal skills.
  • You are a self starter and can work independently.
  • You are proficient in all things Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)
