Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.Job SummaryThe Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Atlantic, housed at Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management, provides startups with access to a network of accomplished entrepreneurs and investors. Originally conceived at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, CDL is one of the world’s premier seed stage programs for massively scalable science-based ventures. The program targets companies that have the potential to transform our social, industrial and economic landscape. Reporting to the Associate Director, Creative Destruction Lab, the Program Coordinator will ensure the successful execution of CDL-Atlantic and the program’s initiatives. The role will be essential in the coordination of logistical needs in the lead up to each CDL-Atlantic cohort, as well as continued support throughout the execution of the entire CDL-Atlantic program.Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of CDL events across multiple cohorts, which includes the coordination of communications, schedules, venue, catering, and supplies for all the attendees, which include mentors, sponsors, students, entrepreneurs, professors and all other invitees.
  • Liaise with CDL-Atlantic participants to ensure proper registration and participant information. Works with all members of the CDL-Atlantic and CDL-Global teams to ensure program participants have access to resources and services, as appropriate.
  • Assist Venture Managers with any recruitment tasks needed, including scraping lists, prospecting leads, and registration for interviewers and ventures.
  • Implement a range of marketing activities including the conception and production of printed material, coordinating with the CDL-Global marketing team and CDL-Atlantic team members on social media content, and identifying marketing opportunities within the region.
  • Complete administrative tasks including preparing and filing expense reports, organizing travel and accommodations, scheduling appointments and meetings for team members, including management of conference rooms and bookings.
NotePeriodic evening and weekend work, and some travel is required.The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.Dalhousie’s vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination. However, health and safety risks to our community will continue to be monitored and a vaccine mandate may be reinstated if necessary.Required QualificationsPost secondary education in business, marketing, public relations, or other relevant field, plus three years’ in a related role (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Demonstrated event planning and marketing experience is required. The ability to balance multiple competing priorities under strict deadlines is key; the candidate must be organized, adaptable, tactful, and have a high level of attention to detail.
