Job Description

Location: Halifax, NS or Saint John, NBTEP Canada is seeking a full-time employee as a Project Coordinator, based in our Halifax, NS office. TEP Canada also formally reviews base salary and performance bonus annually.SummaryThe preferred candidate will be a key member of the work for a telecom consulting company providing project support. This position provides overall project support for fibre builds, overlays, greenfield new build, and small cell projects. The individual is responsible for managing all aspects of projects along with client and vendor relationshipsQualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field/equivalent experience)
  • Bilingual (English & French) – Preferred
  • 3+ years of construction/project experience - Required
  • 3+ years telecommunications experience - Required
  • Experience with Fibre builds – Preferred
  • Experience with Wireless network – Preferred
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written);
  • Canadian resident with necessary permit or citizenship to work in Canada.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • General knowledge of Radio Access Network (RAN)
  • General knowledge of Fixed Access Network (FTTH, FTTB…, FTTx)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GSuite
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills: must have the ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience communicating directly with and providing services to clients – Required.
  • Ability to give direction and training to Engineering/Construction peers and teammates – Required.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Present strong project management skills with the ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions.
  • Able to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to achieve business results effectively and professionally.
  • Adhere to all company and industry standard/regulations/safety practices.
Essential Functions
  • Assist the Project Manager with administrative functions and provide day-to-day support for project issues.
  • Analyze project data and creating progress reports
  • Communicate with key stakeholders on project timelines, risks, plans and action items.
  • Gathering applicable project safety documentation and certificates of insurance as required.
  • Maintain project management software data for resource allocation and project status;
  • Responsible for scheduling construction activities through either in house or subcontract labor resources and report schedule to client.
  • Responsible for updating client trackers daily/weekly for various stages of completion based on construction schedule.
  • Manage change order request and reporting of requests for information.
  • Responsible for budgeting and monthly revenue with assistance of Project Manager.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with clients, partners, and local authorities aimed at safeguarding and promoting client interests.
  • Provide support to all team members by assisting in prioritizing and managing workloads.
  • Be willing to travel 30% to 50% of your time in Atlantic Canada.
  • Other duties as required.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentApproximately 70% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 30% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities. Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
