Our efforts to promote safety, security, and access to justice for Nova Scotians span all areas of the Department and include programs and services that assist all communities, including Indigenous Nova Scotians, African-Nova Scotians, and Nova Scotians with disabilities.To accomplish its mandate, the Department provides services through seven core business areas: Public Safety and Security; Court Services and Sheriff Services; Correctional Services; Maintenance Enforcement and Victim Services; Accessibility Directorate; Restorative Initiatives Unit; and, Legal Services to Government.About Our OpportunityThe Project Manager will work as part of a team within the Domestic Violence Initiatives unit of the Office of Strategic Initiatives. As the Project Manager, you are responsible for managing the design, build and implementation of one or more significant projects across the Department of Justice, involving other partners. Under the direction of the Executive Lead on Domestic Violence, the Project Manager defines and manages the overall project(s) that impact(s) internal and external stakeholders and assist the Department in delivering its vision, mission, and mandate.You will be responsible for delivering project(s) according to any associated scope, timeline, and budget, including ongoing monitoring and reporting. You work with key internal and external stakeholders and develop and/or deliver on a plan for significant change management and communications, with guidance from senior colleagues.On the specific projects you will be primarily working on and responsible for, the Project Manager will execute the entire initiative – from the delivery of the project that is aligned with the project plan, to the physical material required to move the project along, to the completion of a final report. You will have access to a small number of supporting resources, however, this will be mainly Project Manager led.Primary Accountabilities
