Projects and Programs Officer Perennia Food and Agriculture Inc. offers specialized development and consulting services to the agriculture, seafood, cannabis and food processing sectors in Atlantic Canada. Our highly skilled and collaborative team focuses on superior customer service, proactive solutions and innovative approaches to meet our client needs. As we build our program and projects portfolio, we are seeking a Project and Programs Officer in home-based position with access to use our offices in Kentville and Truro as needed. Occasional travel to our offices would be required, as well as the rare occasion to travel within the region.This position is being posted based on pending project funding. This position will be part of a small team supporting Perennia’s major projects and programs, interacting and working with the CEO, managers, and lead project specialists. The specific projects we are focusing on for this position are in the agriculture sector with a focus on climate change. Some projects may have a third-party funding component where Perennia would be developing and executing the process of receiving and assessing applications, awarding funding and ensuring accurate and exceptional documentation through the entire funding life cycle.This position may also will work with the other members of the team to support managers and specialists identifying funding programs for their ideas and initiatives, developing funding proposals and budgets, and tracking metrics and supporting successful claims.This is a position that can evolve with the skills and interest of the successful candidate, but a key component will be a very, very high level of detail and organization; a process-driven mind-set to accept and oversee applications to funding programs for eligibility, review, due diligence and reporting; and exceptional Microsoft Suite skills with a focus on Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.Specific responsibilities include:· Working with project leaders and members who are subject matter experts in agriculture production to support the professional and successful delivery of large development projects with a variety of deliverables and some with third-party funding components.· For those projects with third-party funding components, responsibilities will be executing the applications process from initial contact to successful claiming with high detailed appropriate tracking and includes financial and written reporting to funders.· Helping develop revised tracking and reporting on progress and deliverables· Working with managers to support business cases, proposal writing, funding identification, submission and budget development for new opportunities, and current project claims· Staying current on funding programs and researching to identify moreThe ideal candidate will possess:· Minimum of a post secondary degree, preferably in Business Administration or equivalent· A minimum of three demonstrated years of project management experience (federal program delivery considered an asset)· Proposal review and claim management experience would be considered a strong asset· An understanding of provincial, regional and national funding agencies would be considered an asset· Exceptional detail orientation and organizational skills· Excellent written, strong communication and interpersonal skills· Ability to prioritize, multitask and resolve problems efficiently and effectively· Experience or understanding of agriculture and seafood sectors would be considered an asset· Superior Microsoft Office Suite skills with an emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams· A collaborative work style but the ability to work well and efficient independently· A growth-oriented perspectivePerennia offers a competitive compensation package based on the candidate’s skill and experience.
