SaltWire’s 500 direct employees and nearly 2000 contractors ensure it remains Atlantic Canadian’s essential source for reliable and trusted information.We are currently looking for a Public Relations Manager to join our team. The Public Relations Manager will lead strategic communication efforts for SaltWire, including developing an organizational tone and manner for all external messaging.   • Manage the development and execution of all media relations efforts and public relations campaigns to increase consumer awareness of SaltWire;
  • Cross-functional collaboration with the Marketing and Client Solutions departments to create strategic communication plans;
  • Prepare for and assist with corporate events, charitable activities and other organized sponsorship and media events;
  • Writing press releases, composing articles, and other technical writing pieces;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff across the organization;
  • Works closely with the membership services team to ensure alignment in messaging and creative execution in all member interactions.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • A proven track record in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing and/or Business.
  • An ability to work independently and in a team setting;
  • Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns;
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Understanding of news, reporting, and journalism would be considered an asset;
  • Open-minded, willing to learn and comfortable with continuously changing opportunities and priorities.
