We are a very supportive group and looking for someone with a keen financial administrative background.Reporting to the Research Manager and Associate Director, Hematology Research, the Research Administrative (Finance) Coordinator will be supporting the department’s financial management of over 60 different research projects. This position entails budget negotiation of research contracts to ensure all costs are covered, invoicing and reconciling our accounts, and tracking study timelines.The Research Administrative (Finance) Coordinator is also responsible for the administrative coordination of research projects conducted within Nova Scotia Health.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Successful completion of a one year Secretarial/Business/Accounting diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
  • Minimum of three years related administrative financial experience required
  • Medical terminology course preferred
  • Previous research experience preferred
  • Knowledge of REB and grant applications preferred
  • Bookkeeping experience preferred
  • CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet
  • Effective and professional communication, customer service, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to draft, format and edit office correspondence
  • Well-developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of people and personalities in a professional manner
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
