Job Description

We are immediately seeking a qualified, live-in Resident Manager (couple preferred) to fill the position of live-in Resident Manager of a newly constructed 104 unit building in Rockingham.Responsibilities

  • Daily cleaning of common areas;
  • Light maintenance, minor repairs as required;
  • Managing on-site activities;
  • Maintaining work orders and ensuring tenant’s repair requests are carried out in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Show units to prospective tenants;
  • Resolve tenant disputes including noise complaints;
  • Enforce building rules;
  • Collect defaulted rent payments;
  • Attend bank if necessary;
  • Building and maintaining positive professional tenant relationships;
  • Liase with vendors and repair contractors as necessary;
  • Ensuring parking areas are free of debris;
  • Oversee move-ins/outs and attend to in/out inspections;
  • Additional cleaning of units on move-outs to ensure each unit is properly cleaned;
  • Additional salting of sidewalks and parking lot, where required, after snow removal company has plowed and salted;
  • Willingness to be on call for building after hours for emergencies only and every second weekend;
  • Reporting to the Property Manager.
Qualifications
  • Proven communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Computer skills;
  • Ability to work well with minimum supervision;
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act of Nova Scotia;
  • Previous experience in a cleaning role, customer service experience in the Property Management industry and/or as building superintendent is an asset.
