Job Description

Matrix is hiring a Certified Rigger for an exciting, long-term job in Halifax, NS. We offer additional overtime and wage parity for this position. This position also offers weekends off to allow for work/life balance. The Riggers will be working indoors in a controlled environment. The pay rate has increased to $43/hr. Our client has been building quality vessels for over 50 years and has been at the forefront of Canadian shipbuilding for over 130 years.Contact us if you know anyone who would be perfect for this role. Our Referral Bonus program provides $250 (after 40 hours of work) for every successful hire you recommend!Key Responsibilities:

  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving.
  • Select gear such as cables, pull-eyes, and winches, according to load weights and sizes using chain fall and other equipment.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn to suspend loads to maneuver over, under, or around obstacles.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • A pre-employment Government Security Clearance/Background and Credit check will need to be completed.
  • Full PPE + Fit Tested Respirator Mask.
Qualifications:
  • At least a year of Rigging experience.
  • Successfully completed Rigging Training Courses in class.
  • Confined Space.
  • Fall Protection.
  • WHMIS.
  • Must be able to commute to work daily.
