• Working as a professional IT consultant in the field of software testing with a geographically spread team for one of the Big Five (Canadian Banks). The initial assignment is API test automation for a complex calculation engine using REST-assured libraries in a BDD framework.
• One must have authorization to work in Canada and Must be willing to relocate to anywhere in Atlantic Canada.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Perform requirements analysis and quality risk analysis
• Support creation of Test Strategiesamp; Test Plans
• Develop and maintain test cases, automated scripts, and traceability matrices
• Facilitate the identification and preparation of test data
• Ensure quality processes are followed
• Execute system and integration test scripts
• Detect, log, and retest defects
• Participate and contribute to the Lessons Learned Sessions
• Participate in knowledge transition activities
• Communicate progress of testing activities to the team/test lead or directly to client
• Producequot;client quot; andquot;internal quot; status reports
• Maintain a solid understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies, and terminologies
• Coach and mentor other members

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• At least 5 -7 years of experience in automation development and testing
• Strong programming skills in Java
• Experience with REST API application programming interface
• Experience in various data structures for storing and traversing payloads
• Experience with Git source control tools such as Bitbucket and GitHub
• Experience in Agile development methodologies and continuous integration /

continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

• Experience with BDD framework
• Knowledge of software testing principles and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to research problems and provide recommendations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

• Mainframe experience (IMS/DB2, Host File extraction etc.)
• ISTQB Certified Foundation Level (and/or other industry recognized testing certifications)
• Working experience with accessibility testing and tools (ex. JAWS, etc.)
• Experience working with industry standard mobile test tools (ex. Perfecto, Appium, etc.)
