Job Description

Senior UI/UX DesignerCognizant is looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer with extensive experience in developing customized product for our clients. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership/best practices to enhance our current services and technologies.Cognizant Interactive helps clients reinvent products, experiences, and business models to create new value, differentiation, and drive revenue in the digital economy. We take an Experience centered approach, which uses human insights to take ideas from vision to outcome, and building end to end experience led solutions that enables brands to transform their customer and employee experiences using design, marketing, and commerce capabilities.Location: Canada - HalifaxNote: This is an onsite/hybrid for 3 days a week in office.You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.Roles/Responsibilities

  • Work closely in a multi-disciplinary team of product designers, researchers
  • Create and deliver high quality visual design outcomes like UI layouts, components and supporting documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve visual design based on visual design principles and informed by analytics, insights and customer data
  • Collaborate with Design leads to guide future development and direction of product #39;s visual language
  • Create wireframes, user interface design and prototypes using modern design tools
  • Participate in user research and partner with internal researchers on usability testing, research, and customer centric principles
  • Collaborate with other user experience designers and researchers offering advice and constructive feedback on design/usability review
  • Lead, manage and mentor other UI/UX designers in the team
  • Engage with clients to proactively identify areas of improving user experience
Required Qualifications:
  • Hands on experience as Sr UI Designer / Lead; 8-12 years of experience
  • Experience of creating and driving visual design strategy, deign practices and principles
  • In depth experience as designer for enterprise software, responsive web apps, and defining in-house style guides and documenting standards
  • Experience with modern design tools - Figma, Sketch, Invision or equivalent
  • Strong understanding to usability and user-centered design principles/methods
  • Ability to be a UX advocate and communicate with diverse stakeholders
  • Effective communication of visual design solutions across roles and levels
  • Hands on experience as Sr UI Designer / Lead; 8-12 years of experience
  • Experience of creating and driving visual design strategy, deign practices and principles
  • In depth experience as designer for enterprise software, responsive web apps, and defining in-house style guides and documenting standards
