Job Description

Matrix is hiring local Skilled Labourers for a long-term project in Halifax, NS. Overtime may be offered each week (but not guaranteed).Key Responsibilities:

  • General cleaning of shops, facilities, projects, and anywhere else needed.
  • Help with setting up for specified work on a vessel or in the shop.
  • Preparing and applying a coating.
  • Helping with care and preservation, performing fire watch and confined watch duties.
  • Assisting in docking and undocking vessels.
  • Surface preparation & Coating (i.e. Solvent Cleaning, Hand Tool Cleaning, Power Tool Cleaning, and Power Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal).
  • Assisting others wherever assistance is needed.
Requirements:
  • You must be eligible to work in Canada to apply for this job.
  • A pre-employment Government Security Clearance/background check will need to be completed.
  • Full PPE+Fit Tested Respirator Mask.
  • Grinder experience.
Qualifications:
  • Fall Protection.
  • WHMIS.
  • Forklift Ticket (asset but not required).
  • HSE Orientation.
  • ISI Medium Voltage Cable Training.
  • ISI Lockout Tage Training.
  • ISI Security Orientation (In Person).
