IMP is able to achieve success through this teamwork mindset, which is why at IMP, you are not defined by your role.Reporting to a Materiel Manager within the Materiel Operations Department, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the direct first-level supervision of unionized stores controllers working to provide effective, efficient and economical logistical support to the different contracted aerospace production programs, to include liaison, as necessary, with Production foremen and managers.The warehouse Supervisor will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport.What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for coordination of first level Material Management activities to include:
  • Work planning, assigning and directing - plan and organize the daily activities of the supervised materiel staff to include the scheduling of overtime.
  • Training and orientation of new staff on material handling equipment, health & safety, standard plant procedures.
  • Receipt, security, shipping and receiving, kitting and issue of material.
  • Determining material requirements (in concert with program coordinator).
  • Complete accurate stocktaking cycle counts as per schedules.
  • Set/achieve performance targets (metrics) and holding staff accountable for meeting the performance targets.
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent stock outs/overages.
  • Documentation and control of R&O repairables.
  • Managing company owned and customer supplied inventories as well as contract issue, A/A and GFOS stock in accordance with Canadian Forces System Procedures and Regulations.
  • Ensuring accurate data input into the company MRP system - JD Edwards.
  • Act as a focal point for materiel matters with R&O and program coordinators.
  • Responsible for the supervision and administrative/disciplinary matters pertaining to all assigned staff.
  • Ensure appropriate work and health & safety training is provided and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure manpower is equitably distributed to meet needs dictated by workload.
  • Ensure that the company warehouse locations are properly maintained with respect to cleanliness, packaging, location, identification, labeling, segregation, security and safe working conditions.
  • Manages and monitors necessary personnel development and administration within the Materiel department, ensuring, in cooperation with Human Resources, the implementation of the CollectiveAgreement.
  • Attend major program meetings as required.
What You Will Bring:
  • Grade twelve diploma (university preferred) and at least ten years experience (minimum of 3 plus years in a supervisory capacity) in Logistics and Supply Management, or a suitable combination of education, training, civil/military experience and with a solid record of achievement.
  • A good knowledge of the DND Supply System and extensive training in the techniques of Inventory Control and experience with a variety of material-handling equipment (forklifts, raymond reach, scissor-lifts, walkies)
  • The ability to effectively manage people and have excellent customer service skills.
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a team player, possess good communication skills, and have a solid computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
