Additional benefits include:Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan (eligible immediately upon hire) including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramRRSP program (5% employer matching)Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insuranceFree onsite parkingEmployee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks ProgramAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiativesRecognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the OpportunityIdentifies learning and development requirements by conducting needs assessments.In collaboration with the Learning and Development Specialist and Manager, Work and Learn Programs and Parternships, plans and develops program curriculum related to the Work and Learn programEvaluates programs; performs research on relevant topics, develops and/or revises modules and presentation materials as appropriateDevelops associated learning and development policies, procedures, standards and evaluation guidelinesDevelops a multi-cohort delivery schedule to support both classroom and on-the-job learningDelivers and facilitates education sessions to groupsVisits participants regularly onsite and assists in the assessment, coaching and reinforcement of learningWhere applicable, coordinates with in-house Allied Health Professionals to assist in the development and delivery of content (i.e. OT, PT, Dietitian)Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training and development programs and implements necessary modificationsMaintains regular contact with program participants and operational leadersWorks closely with operational teams to evaluate participant progress (strengths and gaps)About YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Diploma in Practical Nursing preferredActive practicing license in good standingMinimum 3-5 years working as in healthcare environmentExperience working with regulated education programs and certificates1-3 years experience designing, developing, and delivering education programs would be considered an assetCompleted Certificate in Adult Education, Train the Trainer, Food Safety Certification Trainer, CPR/First A Certification Trainer, Dementia and Related Dementias Care Course, would be considered an assetAbout UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
