Are you passionate about getting women cycling in communities around Nova Scotia Are you confident on a bike, planning events and building relationships Do you want to spend your summer gaining valuable office experience and getting paid to ride outsideBicycle Nova Scotia (BNS) is looking for a Women on Wheels (WoW) Coordinator this summer to coordinate and foster ridership among women throughout Nova Scotia. This year, Bicycle Nova Scotia is looking to grow the WOW program, increasing the number of WOW programs across the province and increasing participation in existing programs. This will include specific programming to foster ridership among young women (12-18), and teach new mothers the basics of riding with your child. In this position, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate all aspects of the WOW program, including the creation of tools and strategies to make the WOW program more sustainable in the future.What is Women on Wheels Fun. Fitness. Friendship.WOW began 6 years ago as a beginner cycling group for women aged 50+ who had not ridden a bike in a long time. The program has grown and expanded over the years to include women of all ages, but still operates with the same goal of being a cycling group for beginners to advanced riders, with a welcoming atmosphere and an emphasis on the social aspect of cycling. WOW groups are often run by volunteers, and this year BNS is looking to grow the number of programs and participants and increase the sustainability of the program.Responsibilities
