Tell us how you can make a difference through your YWCA.The Open New Tab program is a multifaceted youth programming initiative that aims to address issues related to cyberviolence in the lives of youth living in the HRM. The YSpace program is a responsive, participant-led, leadership-focused program for female-identifying or trans and nonbinary youth that creates a safe space to explore issues connected to cyberviolence through games, discussion, and collaborative exploration. Youth in our programs learn to speak in front of a group of supportive peers, build self-esteem and confidence, increase their self-sufficiency and well-being, as well as gain valuable leadership skills. YSpace is delivered in junior high schools around the HRM and works in conjunction with the YWCA’s GuySpace program.The YSpace Coordinator will work alongside the GuySpace coordinator within schools and community locations to deliver the programs; co-develop and co-deliver the peer mentorship programs; develop and deliver training to other youth-serving organizations; facilitate and deliver summer PowerCamp and develop a regional network of programs.Duties will include:
