Job Description

Oakridge Group Inc. is looking to hire a Janitor in the Niagara Falls area for a couple of commercial plaza properties.Oakridge Group Inc. Our focus and client dedication can be seen throughout decades of Oakridge Landscape Contractors #39; award-winning residential and commercial projects.Location: Hamilton, Ontario.Pay: $20.00 per hour.Hours: 7.5 hours per week. You will be working at a plaza which requires 1.5 hours of work per day, 7 days per week. Work to be completed between 4 and 8 am. Job Duties:

  • Be familiar with the property.
  • Be familiar with all trash bins. Know which ones you are able to use as some of these belong strictly to the tenants.
  • Also, know which bin each tenant uses.
  • If a pick-up is missed, report it immediately to Oakridge.
  • Ensure that the properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
  • This includes all hardscape and soft scape areas.
  • Some sites have special instructions that may be somewhat different than this list. These requirements will be submitted to you.
  • Never leave the site untidy!
DAILY CLEANING DUTIES: The following list is to be completed at each location on a daily basis:
  • Pick up litter in the parking lot, planting beds, sidewalks, loading areas, sod areas, etc
  • Clean around dumpsters.
  • Clean under stairs and landings.
  • Wipe window ledges.
  • Clean mailbox areas.
  • Clean phone booths.
  • Sweep along the curb line in order to remove small debris such as cigarette buts, leaves, grass clipping, trash, etc.
  • Change all bags in trash receptacles and clean lids.
  • Keep the plaza clean, tidy, and neat.
  • Keep the maintenance room organized and clean.
QUALIFICATIONS AND OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Driver’s License or having reliable transportation to and from the job site is a MUST.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work long hours.
  • Ability to work outdoors all year.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to think as a team player.
  • Ability to do physical work.
  • Respect for staff and clients.
  • Respect for on-site safety.
  • Tolerance to various weather conditions.
