Clarke and Associates has attracted private land development clients and builders through providing Civil (Municipal) Engineering, Professional Planning, and Survey services. A. J. Clarke is a division of TULLOCH, a robust multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm recognized Canada-wide for its strengths in diverse service offerings and commitment to excellence.Based in Hamilton, the Project Manager, Civil Engineering will report to the Engineering Manager and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on management of civil engineering projects and preparation and review of technical deliverables for clients. You will be part of a team that offers services and expertise to private and government sector clients throughout the Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara regions and beyond.What You’ll Do:The Project Manager, Civil Engineering, will be part of the Engineering team at A. J. Clarke and Associates. You will:

  • Function as Project Manager in all aspects of municipal and land development project delivery including bidding and proposal preparation, project setup, logistics, resource and technical planning and execution, billing and collections, and project budget management
  • Manage engineering and design staff in project execution, while providing mentorship and direction to your team
  • Complete detailed design calculations for servicing and grading plans including: sewer sizing, road profile design, lot and site grading, stormwater calculations for attenuation and conveyance, layout of the SWM facilities, cut/fill analysis from existing to proposed surfaces, watermain sizing calculations, fire-flow assessments, and wastewater-water generation assessments
  • Complete, check, and review technical deliverables including reports, technical notes, drawings, engineering calculations, and permit applications
  • Review project design basis for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy
  • Undertake estimation of tender quantities
  • Oversee client relations and engagement, lead client meetings, and ensure client satisfaction

  • You have a Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering with 10+ years experience in the design and management of land development and municipal infrastructure projects
  • You have a P.Eng. licence
  • You have experience managing and supervising other professionals
  • You are familiar with stormwater management products such as MIDUSS, PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS
  • You understand the approvals framework for municipal land development projects
  • You have a solid understanding of companyamp; client procedures, drafting principles, design, and engineering skills
  • You have extensive knowledge of municipal design standards for site-plan and subdivision developments
  • You can exercise independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
What You Should Bring:The ideal candidate will have a postsecondary Civil Engineering degree. Additionally, you should have:
  • Knowledge of applicable government submission and review processes and technical standards
  • High motivation with results-oriented focus
  • Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to navigate confidential matters and manage sensitive data
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A valid Class G driver’s licence
