Job Description

Position Description: Nova Scotia Land Surveyor (or ability to become a Candidate)As a Nova Scotia Land Surveyor your responsibilities will include:

  • Property research and thorough review and analysis
  • Managing the daily activities of a survey field crew
  • Operating survey instruments and devices
  • Preparing detailed field notes of survey activities
  • Survey data processing and calculations
  • Creating a variety of survey plans using CAD
  • Completing boundary, subdivision and topographic field surveys
  • Construction layout and quality control
  • Subdivision lot design and lot grading design
  • Boundary calculations and determination
  • Plan review and final checks
Qualifications and Skills:The successful candidate will need the following qualifications and skills:
  • Licensed as a Nova Scotia Land Surveyor (or ability to become a candidate)
  • A degree in Surveying/Geomatics or a diploma and CBEPS certificate
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant land surveying work experience
  • Previous survey crew chief experience
  • Experience using Total Stations and RTK GPS
  • Familiarity with engineering, architectural and survey plans
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Chainsaw experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to function within a team environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment
  • Conscious of safety procedures
  • Valid driver’s license and drivers abstract
  • Criminal record check
  • Willingness to travel throughout Nova Scotia
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong sense of professionalism when interacting with co-workers, clients and landowners
  • Strong computer operating skills including MS Office
  • Demonstrated accuracy, neatness and professionalism in the completion of survey projects and plan preparation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $20.00-$25.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
