Timberland Holdings (2010) Ltd is a privately owned land management company located in Hantsport, Nova Scotia. We are committed to practicing sustainable forestry, using science based environmentally responsible practices to promote the conservation of biological diversity through the protection of wildlife, plants, soil and water. All activities will be practiced in compliance with applicable legislation.We are presently looking to hire 2 forestry students for the summer 2022 season. Responsibilities would involve assisting with forestry operations such as:· Harvest and silviculture supervision and layout.· Flagging boundary lines.· Road layout.· Camp lot layout.· Working with GIS data.The successful candidates:· Must be returning to continue forestry studies in the fall 2022 semester· Must have to have a valid driver’s license and provide their own means of transportation to the job sites.· Should have an understanding and entry level experience with the use of GPS / GIS technology and applications.· Should be comfortable with working alone· Previous work experience would be considered an asset.The work term will run May to the end of August 2022.Applications can be emailed no later than February 25 at 3pm.Note: Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is required as a condition of employment with any company with the Scotia Investments Ltd. family of companies.Contract length: 4 monthsApplication deadline: 2022-02-25Expected start date: 2022-05-02Job Types: Full-time, Internship / Co-opSchedule:
