We invest in our team and offer continuous opportunities for training and development.For more information, please visit bertocontractors.com.About the OpportunityWe are currently seeking a full-time Civil Construction Foreman to join our team in the Lower Mainland, BC.As Civil Construction Foreman, you will be responsible for following project plans and schedules to ensure the crew under your direction performs daily and weekly activities to meet job build goals in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Ensuring the quality of the job build meets or exceeds Berto’s standards while being an advocate in building/maintaining an inclusive/respectful culture in accordance with the company values.Some of your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Planning, scheduling, and managing job buildsSupervising the crew members and correcting all unsafe or inefficient practicesEnsuring the required administrative work related to the job build is completed to the expectations of the company and clientRepresenting Berto in a professional and respectful manner when speaking with property owners and tenants while ensuring the safety of the publicEnsuring Health and Safety practices are followed according to WorkSafe BC and Berto’s Health and Safety ManualAbout YouTo qualify, you must have 5+ years of civil construction experience and 3+ years of civil construction supervisory experience, ideally in Telecommunications installation and/or Hydro. A valid driver #39;s license with a clean driver #39;s abstract and access to reliable transportation is also required.The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:Proficiency in reading civil drawings and blueprints, and executing themExperience reading and interpreting BC One Call mappingExperience operating a locating device(s), such as an M-Scope, to locate and mark underground utilitiesBasic understanding of construction principles and procedures, including the ability to identify utility services, and the ability to distinguish utility markingsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsYou must also be able to work in outdoor work conditions, around moving mobile equipment, and stand for extended periods of time.Our ideal candidate is someone who shows initiative, is interested in professional development, and is accountable for their actions.About the BenefitsAs a valued member leader of our team, you will receive an attractive hourly wage of $43+ negotiable dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
