Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this person will maintain and will participate in all system enhancements for the Zekelman Transportation Management System (TMS+) as well as coordinate any inbound or transfer coil shipments.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispatch and schedule inbound coil shipments from various destinations as necessary
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Zekelman Industries’ carrier base
  • Provide training to all new and existing carriers in all functions of TMS+
  • Rate entry and carrier set up in TMS+
  • General maintenance and organization of TMS+ to ensure all data is accurate
  • Additional Logistics Administration & Dispatcher duties as required
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Daily and ad hoc scheduling of any inbound coils from suppliers or between Zekelman facilities
  • Use a combination of the Zekelman Industries TMS+ system, email, and phone to ensure all loads are covered to meet mill requirements
  • Research and implement ways to decrease costs whenever possible without hindering production
  • Cross train with other Logistics Dispatchers within Zekelman Industries to expand knowledge base and provide coverage as necessary
  • Entry and maintenance of carrier rates in TMS+
  • Complete setup and TMS+ system training to new and existing carriers
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the TMS+ through daily tasks
  • Organization and execution of new enhancements in TMS+ while coordinating with internal warehouse and logistics team mates as well as the Zekelman Industries carrier base
  • The maintenance as well as continuous improvements to the Zekelman Driver Rewards Program Application
  • Troubleshooting any system related problems as they arise
  • Providing assistance as necessary to the Logistics Administration team for carrier contracts, set ups, payment of miscellaneous freight invoices, freight quotes, and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Business or Logistics
  • Excellent data management and analytical skills
  • Very detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Must have the ability to type at least 70 WPM
  • Previous experience with a Transportation Management System is a bonus
  • Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel when required for training purposes
