We are headquartered in Hazelton, BC, where we are constructing seed processing facilities, including a seed bank, to support boreal-wide ecological restoration initiativesABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe executive assistant and bookkeeper will support the founder and leadership team in building up Seed the Norths ecological restoration and reforestation seed business, construction of facilities, and community outreachThe chosen candidate will organize documents and transactions, keeping track of multiple projects simultaneouslyFlexible 40 hour work week: work from home 20-30 hours per week. Work 4 days x 10 hours per day; or 7am - 3pm spread over 5 days; or traditional office hours. Must be in Hazelton a minimum 10 hours per week, 9 months a yearDesired skills: consensus decision making and supporting detailed project executionRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and procure seed business materials and construction products
  • Schedule appointments; form, maintain and update calendar and gantt charts
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, prepare itineraries and plan logistics
  • Submit expense reports for self and team members; assist others in submittals
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable; help prepare for year end and tax-accounting
  • Analyze documents and summarize information gleaned from reading, surveying and discussing with team, clients, suppliers and community members
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum seven years of combined experience in admin, research assistant and bookkeeping/accounting technician
  • Bachelors degree required - flexible about what you studied if you have relevant experience
  • Priority will be given to demonstrated job experience
  • Clearly demonstrated experience organizing and prioritizing when given multiple tasks
  • Proficient in formatting professional written documents and organizing with spreadsheets and accounting software
  • Frequent and proactive communication with counterparties in order to nurture relationships and follow-through on procurements
