Starting Salary: $23.24-27.70 per hourStatus: 1-year term, part-timeJOB SUMMARYThe SHAWNA project is a community-based research project focused on the experiences of cis and trans women living with HIV in accessing and navigating care, housing, social and legal supports. The project is committed to ‘GIPA/MEPA’ principles of greater and meaningful involvement and engagement of people living with HIV. Working with the SHAWNA cohort project while being supervised by the PI, and also reporting to the PI, the Research Assistant operates as a member of a multidisciplinary, collaborative research team.The Research Assistant, working under the Principal Investigator, assists the research group in the implementation, execution and evaluation of research and research related activities, including literature reviews, data analysis and drafting of manuscripts for peer review. Assists with routine tasks in data collection, sampling, transcription, and analysis. Provides support with protocol submissions to Institutional Review Boards (IRB).Organizational StatusLocated on unceded Coast Salish territories (Vancouver, BC), the Centre for Gender and Sexual Equity (CGSHE) is a UBC Faculty of Medicine research centre (www.cgshe.ca) and affiliated with SFU. The CGSHE has a strategic mandate of leadership in promoting gender equity and sexual health for all through research, policy and practice. The Centre includes over 40 faculty members, hosts an equity-oriented and interdisciplinary training program with a large cohort of affiliated undergraduate trainees, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, and supports a growing number of UBC/SFU community-engaged research teams working across BC, nationally and globally.
